What a PPC Agency Should Actually Do

Most businesses come to a PPC agency wanting one thing: someone who genuinely knows what they’re doing to take Google Ads off their plate and make it work.

What they often get instead is an account manager who’s been in the industry eighteen months, a templated onboarding process, and a monthly report full of impressions and clicks that doesn’t mention profit once.

I built my approach around the opposite of that. Whether you’re an ecommerce brand trying to scale revenue without burning margin, or a trades business that needs a steady pipeline of qualified leads, the job is the same — Google Ads that pays for itself and then some.

What's Included in My PPC Management

Why a Senior Freelancer Beats a Big Agency

Big agencies have a structural problem. The person who wins your business is rarely the person who works your account. Once you sign, you’re typically assigned to a junior who’s managing a dozen other clients, with limited oversight from anyone more senior.

This isn’t a criticism — it’s just how the economics of a large agency work. They need to cover their overheads, so accounts get distributed across whoever is available.

With me, that doesn’t happen. You’re working with someone who has spent 12 years in Google Ads, managed more than £2M in ad spend directly, and holds Google Partner and Microsoft Ads certifications. I work remotely across the UK, which means I can take on clients anywhere without the overhead of a big office driving up your fees.

You speak to me directly. I answer your questions. I make the decisions on your account. No layers, no handoffs, no chasing.

The Growth PPC Track Record

As the founder of Growth PPC, my sister agency, I’ve been part of managing over £20M in Google Ads spend at scale — with a peak ROAS of 20.8x. Growth PPC operates on the same senior-led, zero-junior model: every account is handled by an experienced specialist, not passed down to whoever has capacity. That’s the standard I bring to every client engagement.

Who I Work With

I specialise in two areas where Google Ads has the clearest, most measurable impact.

Ecommerce and D2C brands who need their Shopping and Search campaigns to drive profitable revenue — not just volume. That means margin-focused bidding, proper feed work, and Performance Max campaigns built with structure rather than handed entirely to Google’s automation.

Home services and trades businesses — windows and doors, conservatories, roofing, landscaping, and similar — who need a reliable pipeline of qualified local enquiries. Lead quality matters as much as lead volume here, so the focus is always on cost-per-genuine-lead, not cost-per-click.

If your business doesn’t fit either niche, I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right fit. I only take on work where I can see a clear path to making your ads pay.

How It Works

  1. Free strategy callWe talk through your current setup, your goals, and where Google Ads fits your wider marketing. No sales pitch — just an honest conversation about whether there’s a good fit.
  2. Account review and proposalIf you’re already running ads, I’ll take a look at what you have. I’ll then put together a clear plan covering what needs to change, what I’d prioritise, and what you can expect the management to cost.
  3. Onboarding and buildOnce you’re happy to proceed, I get access to your account and start work. Campaigns are restructured, tracking is verified, and ads are written to your audience — not copied from a template.
  4. Ongoing management and reportingYour account is monitored and optimised continuously. You get monthly plain-English reports, and you can reach me directly whenever you have a question or want to talk strategy.

Transparent Pricing — No Hidden Markups

My management fee starts at £300/month, which covers accounts spending up to £3,000/month on ads. If your ad spend is higher, the fee is 10% of spend — so a £4,500/month budget means a £450/month management fee.

Your ad spend goes directly to Google. I don’t take a cut of your media budget or mark it up — what you pay Google is what Google receives. The management fee is purely for the work I do.

This model scales with you. As your account grows and your ad spend increases, the fee adjusts accordingly — but you’re never paying for capacity you don’t need.

An Honest Note

I’ll tell you if your ads aren’t the problem. If I look at your account and think your current setup is solid, or that your conversion rate on the landing page is the real issue, I’ll say so. I don’t take on work for the sake of it — only where I can genuinely move the needle.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between hiring a PPC agency and hiring a freelance PPC consultant?

A traditional agency gives you a team structure — but that often means your account is worked day-to-day by a junior. A freelance specialist like me means you get direct access to the senior person at all times, with no account manager in the middle. The work quality is the same or better; the layers are removed.

How much does PPC management cost?

Management starts from £300/month, which covers up to £3,000/month in ad spend. Above that, the fee is 10% of your ad spend — so £4,500/month spend equals £450/month in management fees. Your ad spend goes directly to Google; I don’t mark it up.

Do you work with businesses outside your niche?

My core specialisms are ecommerce/D2C and home services — that’s where I have the deepest track record. I’ll always be upfront if your business falls outside what I know well, and I won’t take on an account where I can’t see a clear path to adding value.

Will I deal with you directly, or get handed to someone else?

You deal with me directly. I manage every account personally — there are no juniors working your campaigns in the background. When you email or call, you get me.

Do you manage Google Ads for businesses across the whole UK?

Yes. I work remotely and take on clients across the United Kingdom. Location doesn’t affect the quality of service — Google Ads management doesn’t require face-to-face contact, and remote working keeps my overheads low.

What if my Google Ads account already exists — do you start from scratch?

Not necessarily. I’ll review what you have first and decide whether it’s worth building on or better to restructure. Either way, you’ll know the reasoning before any work starts.
