What a PPC Audit Actually Is

An audit is a diagnostic. I dig into your Google Ads account for 5–10 hours, depending on account size. I find what’s broken: keywords that should be paused, bid structures that aren’t working, audience setup that’s tangled, conversion tracking gaps, wasted budget, low-hanging fruit you’ve missed. Then I send you a report with recommendations — not a bill for three months of management.

What Gets Audited

The Honest Part

Some audits find that your account is actually fine. Your agency or in-house team is doing solid work. In that case, my report says so. I won’t invent problems to justify a sale.

How the Audit Process Works

  1. Book the auditYou give me access to your Google Ads account for 7–14 days. I do the diagnostic work.
  2. Deep diveI spend 5–10 hours reviewing structure, keywords, bidding, targeting, tracking, and creatives. I note every issue, from major structural problems to small optimisations.
  3. Report deliveryYou get a detailed written report with findings prioritised by impact: what’s costing you most, what’s quick to fix, what’s strategic for growth.
  4. Optional follow-up callWe can schedule a call to walk through findings, answer questions, and discuss implementation. This is optional — the report stands alone.

Common Audit Findings

In most accounts I audit, I find at least one structural issue or tracking problem. Broad keywords drawing irrelevant traffic. Conversion tags firing too late or on the wrong page. Negative keywords that should exist. Audience layering that’s either missing or overcomplicated. Bid strategies that aren’t aligned with business goals. After 12 years of Google Ads, these patterns are predictable — and fixable.

Who Should Audit

Frequently asked questions

How much does a PPC audit cost?

It depends on account size and complexity. Small accounts (5–10 campaigns) cost less than large accounts (50+ campaigns). I’ll quote you fairly on a call based on what I can see in your account.

How long does the audit take?

The process takes 7–14 days from start to report delivery. I spend 5–10 hours doing the actual audit work depending on account size.

Do I have to hire you after the audit?

No. An audit is one-off. You get the report, you implement (or don’t), you move on. No obligation. That said, if the report finds serious issues and you want help fixing them, we can talk about ongoing management or consulting — but there’s no pressure.

Can you audit a Fulwood or South Yorkshire business?

Yes. Location doesn’t matter. I audit accounts across the UK. What matters is that you have a Google Ads account to review.

What if my account is complex — multiple locations, multiple ad accounts, client-managed accounts?

I can handle it. Multi-location accounts, multi-account setups, managed accounts — I’ll audit whatever you need. The complexity might affect scope and price, but nothing’s off-limits.

Do you offer recommendations on implementation?

Yes. The report includes prioritised recommendations. If you want help implementing them, we can discuss ongoing management or project-based consulting separately.
