What a PPC Audit Really Finds

You’ve been running Google Ads for a while. Some days feel good. Some days feel like you’re throwing money at the wall. An audit is a snapshot diagnosis—not a sales pitch for ongoing management, but a hard look at what’s working, what’s broken, and what’s costing you money unnecessarily.

I’ve reviewed hundreds of accounts over twelve years. Most have the same problems: keyword overlap, poor match type discipline, landing pages that don’t match the ad promise, tracking gaps that hide real performance, bid automation working against your goals. These aren’t small tweaks. They’re usually 15–40% of your ad spend leaking away.

A Typical Audit Covers

How an Audit Works

  1. Scoping CallYou tell me your goals, budget, and what feels off. What’s the most painful problem? That guides the audit depth.
  2. Data GatheringYou grant me read-only access to your Google Ads account (and analytics if available). I don’t touch anything; I just look.
  3. AnalysisI run diagnostics, spot patterns, and identify gaps. I pull competitors’ keyword lists, audit your landing page experience, check tracking implementation.
  4. Report & CallYou get a written report with findings ranked by impact (what’s costing the most, what’s easiest to fix). Then we talk through it. No pressure; no upsell.

Fixed Scope, Clear Findings

An audit is 4–6 hours of my time, deep-dive into your account. I’ll find the high-leverage problems. You’ll get a prioritised list of fixes and quick wins. Whether you implement them yourself, pass them to your agency, or ask me to execute is entirely your call.

When an Audit Makes Sense

You’ve been running ads for 6+ months. You’re spending consistent budget, but results feel flat or unpredictable. You’re not sure if the problem is keywords, landing pages, tracking, or bid management—and you don’t want to pay an agency retainer just to find out. That’s the perfect time for an audit. By the end, you’ll know exactly where the waste is and what to do about it.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a PPC audit cost?

I quote it on a call after understanding your scope. I’ll give you a clear price before you commit. You only proceed if you’re happy with the cost.

Will you find problems I can fix myself?

Absolutely. In fact, some audits uncover quick wins you can implement immediately without hiring anyone. I’ll be honest about what needs specialist help vs. what’s a simple fix.

Is this just a sales tactic to pitch ongoing management?

No. I do audits for clients who need diagnosis but aren’t ready for ongoing support. Some don’t hire me afterward; they implement fixes themselves. That’s fine. The audit stands on its own.

How long until I get the results?

Typically 1–2 weeks from the scoping call. I’ll agree on a timeline upfront so you know what to expect.

I'm in Ryde and relatively new to Google Ads—is an audit worth it?

If you’ve been running ads for 6+ months and spent meaningful budget, yes. An audit will show you whether your spend is being used efficiently or whether poor setup is holding back results. For brand-new accounts (under 3 months), an audit is premature; we’d talk strategy instead.

Can you audit my competitor's ads too?

I can analyse what keywords they’re bidding on and how their ads look, but I don’t have access to their account. What I can do is show you their keyword strategy, bid patterns, and ad angles so you can benchmark yourself against them.
