Most Google Ads accounts have problems the owner does not know about

If your Google Ads account has been running for more than a few months — especially if it was set up by an agency or someone following a tutorial — it almost certainly has structural issues that are quietly draining budget.

Broad match keywords pulling irrelevant searches. Tracking that counts the wrong events as conversions. Campaigns cannibalising each other. Budget split across too many campaigns to be effective. Bidding strategies that need different data signals to work properly.

None of these show up obviously in the standard metrics dashboard. They require someone with real experience to look at the account with fresh eyes and know what to look for. That is what a PPC audit is.

What I check in a full Google Ads audit

I will tell you honestly what I find — including if things are in good shape

Some audits exist to create a reason to switch agencies. Mine does not work like that. If your account is well-structured, I will tell you that, point to what is working, and flag anything worth monitoring. You will get an honest assessment, not a manufactured problem list.

Why get an audit before scaling your Isle of Wight Google Ads?

Isle of Wight businesses — whether serving local customers, seasonal visitors, or reaching across to Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, and beyond — often find that ad accounts built for one purpose have quietly drifted as the business evolved.

Before you increase budget, before you switch agencies again, or before you bring management in-house, an independent audit tells you exactly what you are working with. It is a fixed-scope diagnostic — not an ongoing commitment — and it gives you something concrete to act on.

I have 12 years of experience in Google Ads and have managed over £2M in ad spend directly. I know what a well-run account looks like and what warning signs tend to get missed.

How the audit process works

  1. Request and scoping callWe have a brief call to understand your account, your business goals, and what you most want to understand from the audit.
  2. Account accessYou grant read-only access to your Google Ads account. I do not need to make any changes to audit it.
  3. Full diagnostic reviewI go through your account in detail — structure, search terms, tracking, bidding, copy, targeting — and document what I find.
  4. Audit report and debriefYou receive a clear written report with findings prioritised by impact, and we walk through it together so you understand exactly what it means and what to do with it.

Who benefits most from a PPC audit

Frequently asked questions

Do you carry out audits for Isle of Wight businesses specifically?

Yes. I work remotely with businesses across the UK, including those based on the Isle of Wight. Account access is granted digitally and the audit report and debrief happen remotely, so geography is not a barrier.

How much does a Google Ads audit cost?

Audit pricing depends on the size and complexity of your account. Get in touch and I will give you a quote based on what you have. There is no standard fee I can list because a large multi-campaign account takes significantly longer than a simple single-campaign setup.

Do I have to commit to ongoing management after the audit?

No. The audit is a standalone piece of work with no obligation to continue. Some clients take the report and hand it to their existing team or agency to action. Others decide they want me to manage ongoing. Either is fine.

What access do you need to carry out the audit?

Read-only access to your Google Ads account via Google Ads Manager access. I do not need your login credentials and I will not make any changes to your account during the audit.

How is this different from the free audits agencies offer?

Agency free audits are usually sales tools — designed to find problems that justify switching to that agency. Mine is an independent diagnostic by a senior consultant with no vested interest in a particular outcome. I am paid for the audit itself, not for what I recommend at the end.

What format does the audit report come in?

A written report with findings organised by priority, plus a debrief call where we go through it together. You will understand what each finding means practically, not just receive a list of issues.
