What a proper PPC audit actually finds

Most Google Ads accounts have gaps. Sometimes the gaps are obvious—you’re bidding on low-intent keywords, or your ad copy is generic. Sometimes they’re hidden—your conversion tracking is missing 30% of actual conversions, or you’ve got budget leaking into competitor brand bidding wars that don’t move the needle.

A PPC audit is a diagnostic. I spend time in your account—not managing it, just looking—and I produce a report showing where you’re losing money, where your tracking is broken, and where the biggest opportunities are. You get the report, and you decide what to do with it. No obligation to work with me after.

What gets covered in a PPC audit

Designed for Tonbridge and Kent's competitive environment

You’re in the London commuter belt, which means your click costs are high. That makes inefficiency more expensive. A single wasteful campaign can cost you £200–£400/month here. An audit often finds that waste and quantifies what fixing it would save.

How an audit helps you make decisions

A PPC audit puts numbers on your gut feeling. You suspect something is wrong? The audit shows you what. You want to know if Google Ads is worth pursuing? The audit shows you the opportunity. You’re considering switching agencies or bringing someone in? The audit gives you a baseline to measure against.

I’ve spent 12 years in Google Ads across ecommerce and home services. I’ve directly managed £2M+ in ad spend. I know what good looks like, what bad looks like, and what the gaps typically are. That experience goes into every audit.

How a PPC audit works

  1. Brief call (15 mins)You give me access to your Google Ads account (read-only) and GA4 or your conversion tracking setup. You tell me your business model and what you think might be wrong.
  2. Audit (1–2 weeks)I dig through your account, analyse campaign performance, tracking setup, and competitive positioning. I don’t change anything; I just look and document what I find.
  3. Report delivery (written + 30-min call optional)I deliver a written audit report with findings, quantified waste, and recommendations. If you want, I can do a 30-minute call to walk through the findings.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a PPC audit cost?

I quote based on the size of your account and the depth of analysis needed. Call me for a tailored quote. No hidden fees, no surprise invoices—you’ll know the cost upfront.

How long does an audit take?

From start to report delivery, typically 2–3 weeks. I can sometimes rush it if needed, but I won’t sacrifice depth for speed.

Do you audit Google Ads accounts for Tonbridge and Kent businesses?

Yes. I work UK-wide and specialise in ecommerce and home services. Tonbridge and Kent are great markets for audit work—high click costs mean inefficiency is more expensive, so finding waste matters more.

Do I need to use you after the audit?

No. The audit is fixed-scope and standalone. You get a report and a set of recommendations. What you do with it is up to you. Some clients use the report to improve their own account; others use it to brief an agency or justify hiring someone.

Will you see sensitive data like my margins or pricing?

I’ll see your ad spend and revenue (via your conversion data). I won’t ask for your margins or pricing—I don’t need to. An audit works from performance data, not financial data.

What if the audit finds nothing wrong?

That’s possible. If your account is running well, I’ll say so in the report. I’m honest enough to tell you your ads are fine even if it means recommending you don’t hire me for ongoing work.

Curious what a PPC audit would find in your account?

Request an audit. I'll give you a quote and timeline based on your account size. No obligation—the audit stands alone.
