When You Need a Second Brain on Google Ads

You have someone running your Google Ads—an in-house team member, a digital agency, or even yourself. But you’re not sure if the strategy is right. Are you overspending on broad keywords? Is conversion tracking actually working? Could you cut the budget by 30% and keep the same leads? These are the questions I answer. I’m not here to take over your account; I’m here to sanity-check it and tell you what to change.

What Fractional Strategy Looks Like

Why Fractional Works

You already have someone running your account. Maybe they’re good, maybe they’re not—but removing them isn’t realistic. Bringing in a fractional senior consultant (me) lets you get strategic input without redundancy. I come in, review the data, tell you what’s wasteful, and you decide if your current team implements it or if you make the change yourself. It’s the cheapest way to get 12 years of Google Ads experience applied to your specific account.

Common Reasons Bromsgrove Businesses Need This

Ecommerce sellers running £5k–£20k/month spend often find they’re overpaying per purchase. Trades businesses (plumbing, electrics, windows, conservatories across West Midlands) sometimes bid blindly on keywords. In both cases, 2–3 hours of senior review and a written action plan saves 20–30% of wasted spend over the next quarter.

How Fractional Engagements Work

  1. Initial audit callYou show me your account, I ask questions, I identify the top 3 issues. No obligation from here.
  2. Detailed review & action planI send you a written document: the problems I found, the exact changes to make, and why. Usually 2–4 pages.
  3. Ongoing fractional optionIf you want monthly or quarterly check-ins, we can set up a retainer. Pricing by engagement; I’ll quote on a call.

Different From Full-Service Management

I’m not logging in to your account every week. I’m not adjusting bids or pausing keywords for you. You stay operationally independent. Think of me as the senior strategist you call when the current approach feels off. That’s especially useful if your agency changes, if you’re managing in-house, or if you just want a senior sanity-check once a quarter.

Frequently asked questions

How often do you typically advise—monthly or quarterly?

That’s up to you. Some clients want monthly strategy calls; others do quarterly reviews. I’ll work out the right cadence in your initial consultation. Pricing scales with engagement frequency; I’ll quote on a call.

What if I disagree with your recommendations?

Then you don’t do them. I’m an advisor, not a manager. But I’ll be direct about the trade-offs. If I think you’re leaving money on the table, I’ll say so—and if you choose not to act on it, that’s your call.

Do you work with agencies or only direct clients?

Both. I’ve advised creative agencies on their Google Ads strategy, and I’ve worked as a fractional second-opinion for in-house teams. In Bromsgrove and West Midlands, I work with ecommerce sellers and trades businesses directly most often.

Can you tell me if my current agency is good?

Yes. An audit will show whether they’re optimising correctly, wasting spend, and keeping up with account best practices. I’ll be honest about it.

What if I want to switch to full-time management later?

You can. We’d upgrade to an ongoing management retainer (from £300/month), and I’d start logging in weekly instead of quarterly. No problem moving between fractional and full-service.

Do you need any special access to my account?

During audit, I’ll ask for read-only access for a week so I can dig into the data properly. Once I’ve sent you the action plan, I’ll release access. For ongoing fractional work, I might keep read access to spot-check between calls, but no one changes anything without your approval.
