How a consulting engagement works

  1. Scope call15 minutes clarifying the exact problem, goals, and success measure. Is it a one-off audit or recurring advisory?
  2. Work & analysisDepends on scope—could be a 3-day audit, 5 hours of workshop facilitation, or a monthly recurring slot.
  3. DeliverablesAudit reports, written strategy, recorded workshop, or executive summary. Everything you can action immediately or hand to your team.
  4. Follow-upIf it’s recurring, we lock in the cadence (monthly strategy call, quarterly deep-dive, etc.). If one-off, you’ve got a roadmap and my contact for follow-ups.

No ego, just clarity

I won’t tell you your ads are broken if they’re working fine. I won’t push you to a bigger budget if you’re already optimised. And I won’t recommend something just because it’s trendy. You’ll get the truth—what’s working, what’s wasted, and the three things that matter most right now.

Pricing is straightforward

Consulting work varies wildly in scope: a 90-minute tactical session is different from a three-month strategic advisory.

Pricing starts from £300 per month for lighter, recurring advisory (one call/month). Standalone audits and intensive projects are quoted bespoke after we talk through scope. I’ll never surprise you—a proposal before any work begins.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work with my existing agency or in-house team?

Yes. I’ll audit their work, give you a second opinion, coach your team, or sit in on strategy calls. The goal is your confidence in the decisions being made, regardless of who’s implementing.

Is this just a cover for trying to sell me full management?

No. Some clients bring me in for strategy and stay with their current setup. Some move to my full-management model. Either way, my only job is to give you good advice. You decide what you want to do with it.

How can a consultant help if they're not hands-on daily?

Because most account problems aren’t execution—they’re architecture and strategy. Bad keyword grouping, wrong audience setup, misaligned bid strategy, untapped segments. A senior set of eyes once a month catching those is worth far more than incremental daily tweaks.

Do you work with Swindon-based businesses or is this remote-only?

Remote-first. I work with clients across the UK—Wiltshire, Cirencester, London, everywhere. Video calls, email, Slack, whatever works. The strategy is the same whether you’re in Swindon or Surrey.

What if I want to try consulting first, then maybe move to full management?

That’s a smart approach. A quarter of my full-management clients started as consulting engagements. Do an audit, validate the strategy, then decide. No pressure either way.

How do you charge for audits? Is it per-account or per-campaign?

Depends on complexity—how many accounts, how many campaigns, how far back we’re looking. Typically I’ll give you a fixed quote after a 15-minute scope call. We’ll chat about exactly what matters most and price from there.
