What a PPC audit is (and isn't)

An audit is a fixed-scope diagnostic. I review your Google Ads account, search for leaks (wasted budget, missed conversions, bad keywords), and tell you what I find. That’s it. No contract, no ongoing work required. You get a report and a call to discuss findings. Then you decide what (if anything) to do next.

What's included in an audit

What audits usually find

Most accounts waste 20–40% of budget. Common culprits: wrong match types (phrase matches catching too much), no negative keywords, broken tracking, or landing pages that don’t match the ad. An audit finds these fast.

When an audit makes sense

Get audited if: you’re new to Google Ads and want a baseline, you’re switching from another agency and want to know what went wrong, or your campaigns are underperforming and you don’t know why. If your ads are already humming, you probably don’t need one.

How the audit process works

  1. You grant accessYou give me read-only access to your Google Ads account (or screenshots, depending on your comfort).
  2. I analyseTakes 2–3 days for a thorough review of keywords, performance, tracking, and competitive landscape.
  3. Report and callI send a written report with findings ranked by impact. We schedule a call to discuss and answer questions.
  4. You decideNo obligation. You can implement fixes yourself, hire someone, or ignore it. Your choice.

Pricing and scope

Audits are quoted per job after a free 20-minute scoping call. Most Featherstone and Staffordshire accounts run £200–£400, depending on size and complexity. The scope is fixed—no scope creep, and we agree the price upfront.

Frequently asked questions

How is an audit different from management?

Audit = one-time look, report, then you own the fixes (or hire someone to do them). Management = I run it ongoing, optimise monthly, handle all the work. Choose audit if you want to understand the problem; choose management if you want someone else to solve it.

Will an audit actually find real problems?

Almost always. I’ve rarely reviewed an account that didn’t have at least one significant gap—usually tracking or match type issues. Sometimes the findings are small; sometimes they’re huge.

What if the audit shows my campaigns need a complete overhaul?

That’s useful information. The report will tell you. If rebuilding makes sense, I can quote management to do it. Or you can take the findings and hire someone else—no obligation.

Can you audit just one campaign?

Yes. Most businesses want the full account reviewed, but I can scope it smaller if budget’s tight. Scope the exact focus on the initial call.

Is it worth an audit for a small Featherstone business?

Depends on your ad spend. If you’re spending £500+/month and you don’t know if it’s working, an audit pays for itself if it finds even a 10% waste. Below that, maybe skip it for now.

What happens after I get the report?

You’ll have a clear list of findings and next steps. You can implement yourself, hire someone, or book management with me. The report is yours to action however you want.
