What's actually happening in your Google Ads account?

Most businesses run Google Ads without clarity. You see clicks, maybe some conversions, and a bill at the end of the month. But you don’t actually know if your money is being spent efficiently. Are you bidding on keywords that never convert? Is your conversion tracking set up correctly? Are your landing pages relevant to the ads? An audit answers those questions.

An audit typically finds

Real example

A Shefford home services client was spending £800/month on Google Ads and had no idea if it was working. Their previous manager never set up conversion tracking. After audit, we discovered they were getting leads (their phone was ringing), they just weren’t seeing it in Google Ads. We fixed tracking and immediately had clarity on what was working. Spend didn’t change, but confidence went way up.

How the audit works

  1. You grant read-only accessShare your Google Ads account with me. I don’t make changes, just look.
  2. I audit everythingAccount structure, keywords, bids, ads, landing pages, conversion tracking, and campaign settings. Takes 4–8 hours depending on account size.
  3. Diagnostic reportYou get a written report with findings, prioritised by impact. Here’s what’s costing you money, and here’s what to fix first.
  4. Follow-up call (optional)Walk through the report together, answer questions, and talk next steps if you want ongoing support.

Why audit now?

You’re either paying too much for ads, not getting enough from them, or both. Bedfordshire’s market is competitive — CPCs here rival London’s because it’s the commuter belt. That means you can’t afford inefficiency. An audit typically pays for itself within the first month of corrections. And if your ads are actually fine? I’ll tell you that too.

Frequently asked questions

How much is an audit?

Depends on account complexity. Small account (up to £1k/month spend): £500. Medium (£1k–£5k/month): £800. Large (over £5k/month): £1,200+. Get a custom quote by booking a call.

How long does it take?

Typically 1–2 weeks from when you grant access to when you get the report. I spend the audit hours over a few days, write it up, and schedule a call if you want one.

What if the audit finds major problems?

The report will prioritise them. You can fix things yourself if you’re capable, or we can discuss ongoing support. But there’s no obligation — you get the audit, you get recommendations, and you decide what to do.

Can you audit an account I don't currently manage?

Yes, if someone else runs your ads (agency, freelancer, in-house), we can still audit it. You just need to be able to grant me read-only access. That said, if you don’t have access yourself, that’s a red flag — you should always have visibility into your own ad account.

Is there a follow-up cost if I want you to implement the recommendations?

No. The audit stands alone. If you want me to implement recommendations or manage the account going forward, we’d discuss that separately — possibly as done-for-you management (from £300/month) or fractional consulting. But the audit itself is fixed-price, no surprises.

Do you audit Shefford businesses specifically?

I audit any UK business, but I’m very familiar with Shefford and Bedfordshire. Understanding local competition and CPCs is part of my audit — I’ll flag if you’re overpaying for clicks because of market dynamics here, or if there’s opportunity you’re missing.
