What's a PPC audit and why you might need one

A PPC audit is a forensic review of your Google Ads account. We pull 30–90 days of performance data and investigate: Are you tracking conversions correctly? Is budget flowing to the right campaigns? Are keywords grouped logically? Could bid automation be tuned better? Do landing pages actually match your ad copy?

Most accounts we review have 2–4 fixable issues that are silently costing 10–30% of the budget. We find those gaps, explain what to do about them, and send you on your way. If you want us to implement fixes, we can do that too — but that’s up to you.

No pressure, no sales pitch

An audit is diagnostic. We’re not trying to sell you ongoing management. I’ll recommend it only if your account and budget make it worthwhile. If a few internal tweaks will fix things, we’ll say so.

A typical audit covers

How the audit process works

  1. Initial callTell us: current spend level, main goal (ROAS, cost-per-lead, etc.), biggest concern. We ask about your current setup and what you’ve changed recently.
  2. Data collectionWe request read-only access to your Google Ads account (no changes made). We also review your Google Analytics, conversion tracking tags, and landing pages if available.
  3. Deep reviewWe spend 3–6 hours digging into 30–90 days of data, testing tracking, reviewing campaign structure and bid logic, and identifying gaps.
  4. Report & discussionWe send a written audit report (usually 3–5 pages) with findings ranked by impact. We then schedule a call to walk through it, explain the why, and answer questions.

Fixed scope, transparent pricing

A PPC audit is a fixed engagement — we agree on scope upfront (e.g. single account, 60 days of data, competitive benchmark included) and we give you a quote. Typically £500–£2,000 depending on account size and complexity. The price includes the audit, the written report, and one review call. If you want us to handle implementation afterward, that’s a separate conversation.

Perfect for Bristol & the West of England businesses

Whether you’re an ecommerce brand, local home service provider, or in-house marketer at an agency, an audit is a low-risk way to sanity-check your Google Ads operation. No ongoing commitment, no retainer. Just answers.

Frequently asked questions

How long does an audit take?

Typically 2–3 weeks from kickoff to report delivery. We collect access and data in week one, deep review in weeks one–two, report and call in week two–three. Urgent audits can be faster if needed.

Do you need Google Ads account access?

Yes, read-only access. We review campaign structure, keywords, bid settings, conversion tracking, and performance data. We never make changes without your explicit sign-off.

What if the audit finds nothing wrong?

That happens. If your account is well-structured and tracking is solid, the audit will say so. We won’t recommend ongoing management if you don’t need it. Honest is our default.

Can I implement recommendations ourselves?

Absolutely. The audit report is yours — clear, actionable, and written so your team can execute. If you want implementation help, I can quote that separately (hourly or fixed-price depending on scope).

Do you audit all account types?

I specialise in ecommerce and home services/trades. If you’re in another vertical, ask — we might still be a fit. What we don’t touch are gambling, crypto, or heavily regulated industries with compliance red flags.

Can I get an audit for my Bristol-based business?

Yes. We work remote, so your location doesn’t matter. We’ve audited accounts for ecommerce brands, plumbers, electricians, conservatory installers, and agencies across the UK — including plenty in Bristol and the surrounding area.
