Most Google Ads accounts are bleeding money

I’ve audited hundreds of accounts. Nearly all of them have waste. Clicks going to irrelevant keywords. Ads running in the wrong geographic areas. Conversion tracking that doesn’t actually track. Bid strategies that made sense once but stopped making sense. Duplicate campaigns. Rules that do the opposite of what someone intended.

Some of this waste is small. Some is massive — 30%, 40%, even 50% of budget gone to poor setup or maintenance.

An audit finds it. Then you decide whether to fix it yourself, hire me to fix it, or just accept the waste.

A full PPC audit covers

Crowthorne-specific market issues we find

Berkshire is expensive. You’re competing with London-level CPCs because the demographics are strong and the commuter belt drives high-value clicks. That means your bid strategy needs to be tighter, your targeting more precise, and your conversion tracking absolutely must work. A tracking gap here costs you real money quickly.

We also see a lot of people over-bidding on generic keywords (trying to rank for everything) instead of dominating specific high-intent terms. In a high-CPC market, efficiency matters more than volume.

How the audit works

  1. KickoffYou give me read access to your Google Ads account and Google Analytics (if you have it). We discuss your goals, budget, what’s working, and what you’re worried about.
  2. Deep analysisI pull performance data, check keyword intent, test conversion tracking, review account structure, and spot anomalies. This takes a few days.
  3. Audit reportI deliver a detailed document covering all findings, prioritised by impact. ‘This is costing you £X per month’ for each issue.
  4. Debrief callWe walk through the findings, answer questions, and discuss what fixing these issues would look like.

No obligation to act.

You get the audit, you see what’s wrong, and you decide what to do about it. If you want to fix it yourself, great. If you want to hire me, perfect. If you want to walk away, that’s fine too. The audit is a diagnostic tool, not a sales funnel.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an audit cost?

Depends on account size and complexity. Get in touch on a call and I’ll give you a clear quote before I start work.

How long does an audit take?

Typically 5–10 working days from kickoff to report delivery, depending on how much data needs reviewing. I’ll tell you upfront.

What happens after the audit?

That’s up to you. You get the findings, you understand the issues and their impact, and you choose the next step. You can implement fixes yourself, hire me for ongoing management, or just use it as a snapshot of where things stand.

Do you need access to my whole business or just Google Ads?

Just Google Ads and Google Analytics (if you have it connected). I don’t need access to your CRM, bank account, or anything else. Read-only access is sufficient.

What's typically the biggest waste we find in Berkshire accounts?

Broken conversion tracking (accounting for about 30% of the waste we find). You’re optimising to the wrong metric, or not seeing conversions that actually happen. In a high-CPC market like Crowthorne, that’s doubly expensive.

Can you do an audit on an agency's work?

Yes. Sometimes businesses want a third-party assessment of their current agency’s account. I’ll review it objectively and report exactly what I find.
