What's probably broken in your Google Ads

If you’ve been running ads for more than a month, something is definitely bleeding money. Broad keyword matching pulling in low-intent traffic. Ads running at times when no one converts. Landing pages that don’t match the ad promise. Tracking that misses conversions or double-counts. Negative keywords you forgot to add. Budget spread so thin across campaigns that nothing gets traction.

Most business owners don’t spot these because they’re not Google Ads people. It’s not your job. But it’s bleeding £50, £200, maybe £1,000 a month straight into Google’s pocket with nothing to show for it.

What an audit actually does

I log into your account, spend a few focused hours reviewing structure, keywords, ad copy, landing pages, and conversion tracking. I find what’s wasteful, what’s missing, and what’s working. You get a clear report with priorities: fix these first, test that second, archive this.

What I check

Typical audit findings

Last month I audited an ecommerce account burning £2k/month with a 1.2x ROAS. Broad match keywords pulling in searches for free products, competitor brand searches, and completely wrong intent. Conversion tracking was missing 40% of orders. Landing pages were generic and slow. Within the audit, I spotted £800/month of quick wins: pause low-intent keywords, fix tracking, redirect traffic to better landing pages. The client didn’t hire me for ongoing management, but they cut waste immediately and improved ROAS to 2.8x. That’s what an audit does.

How an audit works

  1. Request and briefYou tell me about your business, what you’re trying to sell, and what concerns you about the account. I schedule a time to audit.
  2. Deep diveI log in, spend 3–5 hours reviewing account structure, keywords, traffic, landing pages, and tracking. I check historical performance too.
  3. Report and debriefYou get a written report with findings, priorities, and recommendations. We hop on a call to walk through findings and answer questions.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an audit cost?

Pricing depends on account size and complexity. Let’s talk about your account, and I’ll quote you fairly. No surprise fees.

Do I have to hire you after the audit?

No. Audits are one-off. I give you findings and recommendations. If you want to implement them yourself, great. If you want help executing, we can talk about that separately.

How long until I get the report?

Typically 1–2 weeks from audit date. Depends on account complexity, but most wrap quickly.

Can you audit an account in West Yorkshire or Shipley specifically?

Yes. I work UK-wide and have audited accounts across Yorkshire, Lancashire, and beyond. Location doesn’t matter for a good audit.

What if I'm already working with an agency?

Audits are perfect for this. You get an independent view of what your agency is doing. Some clients use audits to validate their agency’s work; others spot things that need to change.

What's included in the report?

Findings, priorities, quick wins, and recommendations. I also include a cost-benefit note on bigger recommendations so you can decide if they’re worth implementing.
