When to call a PPC consultant

You’ve got an in-house marketer or an agency managing your ads. Performance is okay, but you’re not sure if you’re missing bigger opportunities, or you want an honest second opinion. That’s where I come in. I review structure, strategy, and execution — then guide you on priorities.

Consulting models I offer

Why a consultant, not an agency?

Agencies have overhead and margin targets. I’m a freelancer. You get lower cost, direct access, and advice that’s not coloured by what the agency sells. Sometimes the honest answer is ‘your current setup is sound; save your money.’ Agencies rarely say that.

First consultation flow

  1. Prep callYou share what you’re trying to achieve and what you’re unsure about.
  2. Account reviewI dig into your structure, keywords, creative, and data (if I have access).
  3. Findings callI walk through what I found, the strategic implications, and what I’d prioritise.
  4. Pricing & next stepsIf it’s ongoing work, I quote you based on scope. If it’s one-off, invoice and done.

Background & experience

12 years in Google Ads, £2M+ managed, Google Partner, Microsoft Ads certified. I specialise in e-commerce and home services. I’ve trained in-house teams, fixed broken accounts, and helped consultants sharpen their own strategies. I’m here to make you better, not dependent.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a consultation cost?

That depends on scope — whether it’s a one-off audit, a few hours of guidance, or ongoing fractional work. Book a call to discuss what you need, and I’ll give you a tailored quote.

Do I have to pay Google Ads fees separately?

Yes. I consult on your strategy and optimisation. You pay Google directly for ad spend. My fee is for my time and expertise only.

Can you work with my current agency?

Typically not. Most agencies want control of the account. But I can review strategy independently and advise you, if that’s useful.

Is this worthwhile for accounts in Bracknell and Berkshire?

Absolutely. Bracknell’s in a high-CPC zone because of London-level competition. A strategic review often saves 20–40% of wasted spend without losing volume. That ROI pays for a consultation many times over.

How long do engagements typically run?

One-off audits are 2–4 weeks. Fractional advisory is month-to-month, no lock-in. You scale up, down, or pause based on your needs.

What if you spot something I disagree with?

I explain the reasoning, show you the data, and respect your call. My job is to advise; your job is to decide what’s right for your business.
