Most Google Ads accounts have problems that nobody's spotted

In 12 years of working in Google Ads, I’ve reviewed hundreds of accounts. The vast majority have at least one significant issue — wasted budget on irrelevant search terms, broken conversion tracking, bid strategies that don’t match the account’s data volume, campaign structures that looked fine in year one but are actively hurting performance now.

An audit is the fastest way to find out what’s actually going on in your account. Not what the dashboard says, not what your agency tells you — what’s actually there when someone senior looks at it properly.

What the audit covers

What you get at the end

A clear written report that tells you what’s good, what’s wrong, and what I’d prioritise fixing. I don’t pad audits with observations about things that don’t matter — you get the findings that are actually worth acting on, in plain English.

If there are quick wins — things you or your team can fix immediately — I’ll flag those separately. If there are structural problems that need more work, I’ll explain what’s involved. You decide what to do with it. There’s no pressure to continue working with me once the audit is done.

I work with businesses across Brighton and Hove, and across the wider region including West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent, and Greater London.

No obligation, no upsell pressure

An audit is a fixed-scope piece of work. You get the findings, you decide what to do with them. Some clients use the report to brief their existing agency. Some fix things in-house. Some come back to me for ongoing management. All of those are fine outcomes — my job is to give you accurate information, not to push you towards a particular next step.

How the audit process works

  1. Request a callWe talk through your account, what you’re concerned about, and what you want to understand better. I’ll outline what the audit will cover and what it costs.
  2. Access grantedYou give me read access to your Google Ads account. I don’t need to make any changes — view access is sufficient.
  3. Audit carried outI work through the account systematically across all the areas that matter. This isn’t an automated report — it’s a manual review by someone who’s been doing this for 12 years.
  4. Report deliveredYou receive a written report with findings, prioritised recommendations, and clear explanations of anything technical.
  5. Debrief callWe go through the report together so you can ask questions and leave knowing exactly what needs to happen.

Who audits are right for

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer Google Ads audits to businesses in Brighton and Hove?

Yes. I work with businesses across Brighton and Hove and the surrounding area — East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent, and Greater London. Everything is done remotely, so location doesn’t affect the process.

How much does a Google Ads audit cost?

It depends on the size and complexity of your account. I’ll give you a tailored quote on a call — there’s no fixed price list because scope varies significantly. Request a call and we’ll figure out what makes sense for your situation.

Do I have to use you for ongoing management after the audit?

No. The audit is a standalone piece of work with no obligation attached. You can take the report and do whatever you want with it — hand it to your existing agency, fix things in-house, or come back to me. All fine.

What access do you need to carry out the audit?

Read-only access to your Google Ads account is sufficient. I don’t need to make any changes to your campaigns during the audit — I’m there to observe and document, not to touch anything.

How is this different from a free audit offered by agencies?

Most free agency audits are lead generation exercises — they’re designed to find enough to justify a pitch, not to give you a genuinely useful picture of your account. This is a paid, thorough review by someone with 12 years of experience who has no incentive to oversell problems or downplay things that are working.

What if the audit finds nothing wrong?

Then I’ll tell you that. If your account is in good shape, the report will say so. I’m not going to invent problems to justify the engagement. Honest findings are the whole point.
