When You Need a Second Opinion (Or a Full Strategy Rethink)

Not every business wants done-for-you management. Some have an in-house team. Some have an agency but don’t trust them. Some are getting traction but feel like something’s off. That’s where fractional advisory comes in.

I work alongside your existing setup — or independently if you’ve outgrown your current partner — to audit performance, identify waste, and build a strategy that actually fits your margins and market. Hemel Hempstead’s high Google CPCs mean you can’t afford guesswork. Every fractional hour I spend on your account is aimed at finding money left on the table.

Typical Advisory Engagements

The Fractional Model

You get strategic input without the overhead of a full management retainer. We might meet once a month to review account health, spot trends, and plan the next 30 days. You or your team do the day-to-day execution — bid adjustments, ad copywriting, negative keyword work. I handle the why and where; you handle the how. Best for businesses with internal PPC capability who need senior-level guidance.

Honest Feedback, Not Blame

If your ads are fine, I’ll tell you. If your margins don’t support paid search, I’ll tell you that too. Some of my advisory work ends with a recommendation to pause campaigns and focus on organic or email. That’s the job.

How Advisory Engagements Work

  1. Initial ConsultationYou describe your current setup, goals, and pain points. I ask questions about margins, conversion data, team structure, and market.
  2. Proposal & ScopeBased on the call, I’ll outline the advisory engagement — whether it’s a one-off audit, a 3-month fractional arrangement, or ongoing strategic input.
  3. Access & AnalysisYou grant access to Google Ads, GA4, and your CRM. I pull data, spot patterns, identify opportunities and waste.
  4. Recommendation & ExecutionI present findings and strategy. You and your team execute changes; I track results and adjust.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between fractional advisory and done-for-you management?

Management: I run everything. You get login access but you don’t need PPC expertise. Advisory: you or your team own the day-to-day; I provide strategy, direction, and quality control. Advisory is cheaper and better if you have internal capability.

How much does advisory cost?

Advisory engagements are quoted per scope. A one-off audit might be £1,500–£3,000 depending on account complexity. Ongoing fractional work starts from £300/month for monthly strategy calls, or higher depending on hours. I’ll quote you on a call based on your specific needs.

Can you audit an account managed by another agency?

Absolutely. Sometimes you need to know if your current agency is doing the job. I’ve done dozens of these audits. If they’re good, I’ll tell you. If they’re not, you’ll see it in the data.

Do you do ad copy writing or landing page feedback?

Ad copy writing is part of campaign strategy — I can advise on what your ads should test. Landing page feedback is outside my scope, but I can tell you what the data says users are doing once they click.

What if I want to switch from advisory to full management?

That’s a natural progression. If you want to hand everything over, we transition your account structure to match the done-for-you model and I take over day-to-day optimization.

How does advisory work for home services businesses in Hertfordshire?

Home services have different margins and longer sales cycles than ecommerce. We’d focus on tracking full-funnel conversion (call, quote, close), budget allocation across campaign types, and seasonal adjustments. Same strategic rigor, different tactical focus.
