When you need strategic advice, not another agency

Maybe you’ve got someone managing your ads in-house, or you’re with an agency, but something feels off. Spend’s rising, conversions aren’t. Or the account’s doing fine but you can’t tell if it’s really optimised or just adequate. That’s where fractional strategy comes in. You don’t need me to replace whoever’s running ads now — you need me to review the strategy, spot gaps, and tell you what to fix or what to keep running.

I’ve spent 12 years in Google Ads — ecommerce, trades, D2C, the lot. I can audit your account in a few hours and tell you exactly what’s working and what isn’t.

What fractional consulting covers

Pricing is bespoke

This isn’t off-the-shelf. Consultations, audits, and strategy work vary wildly — from a few hours to a few weeks. Book a call, I’ll scope it, and I’ll quote you.

Why hire a fractional consultant?

Because in-house teams often lack breadth — one person can’t know ecommerce and trades and B2B PPC inside out. Agencies chase upsells. A consultant gives you unbiased perspective and walks away. You get to make the decision.

Typical engagement

  1. Initial consultation30–45 minutes. You tell me about the account, the business, what’s working and what worries you.
  2. Audit and analysisI dig into your account, review structure, keywords, bidding, creative, tracking. Typically 4–8 hours.
  3. Recommendations documentPrioritised list of what to change, why, and expected impact. You decide what to do with it.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between you and an agency?

I’m not trying to lock you into a contract or upsell you services you don’t need. You get unbiased strategy, no relationship beyond the scope we agree.

Do you work with teams already running campaigns?

That’s the bread and butter. In-house team doing okay but not great? I’ll show them where to focus. Or they hand off the work and you run with my recommendations.

Can you help with competitive ads (Bing, LinkedIn)?

Bing, yes — I’m Microsoft Ads certified. LinkedIn’s a different beast. I’ll advise if you ask, but Google Ads is my core.

How long does an audit take?

Depends on account complexity. Small account: 3–4 hours. Enterprise: 20+ hours. I’ll scope it before I start.

What if I don't like the recommendations?

That’s fine. You’ve got the analysis; you can act on it or not. My job is to be right, not to upsell.

Can you stay on retainer for ongoing advice?

Yes. Some clients want a standing slot for monthly strategy calls. We’d agree on scope and price that separately.
