What an audit finds

Wasted spend. Broad-match keywords capturing irrelevant searches. Geo-targeting too wide. Audience overlap burning budget on the same person twice. Tracking failures. Conversions not firing. Value not captured. Landing pages not linked to outcomes. Structural problems. Ad groups built for volume, not margin. Bids set by habit, not strategy. No testing. No seasonal adjustments.

Audits catch what daily management misses

When someone is running your ads day-to-day, they’re optimising within the existing structure. An audit steps back and asks: is the structure right? Most structures aren’t.

A typical audit covers

Hatfield's audit reality

High CPCs mean wasted money is expensive. In Hatfield, a sloppy broad-match setup burns through budget fast. St Albans and Welwyn Garden City have similar competition. I’ve audited dozens of Hertfordshire accounts and most are leaving 20-40% on the table through tracking gaps or structural bloat.

How an audit works

  1. Access reviewYou give me access to your Google Ads account and Google Analytics / GA4. I review everything for 3-5 days.
  2. Audit findingsI create a written report with issues ranked by impact: critical (losing money today), important (should fix in 30 days), nice-to-have (optimisation).
  3. Findings callWe go through the report together. I explain what’s broken, show you the money leak, and recommend fixes.
  4. You decide next stepsImplement the fixes yourself, hire me to manage, or hire someone else. No obligation.

Pricing & scope

Audits are quoted per engagement based on account complexity. A small Google Ads account might be £400-600. A large account with multiple campaigns and custom audiences might be £1,000-1,500. We’ll agree on scope and price before I start.

Frequently asked questions

How is an audit different from ongoing management?

An audit is a one-time diagnostic. You get a report and recommendations. Ongoing management is me running the account and optimising continuously. You can do an audit, implement the fixes, and decide later if you need ongoing help.

What if the audit finds nothing wrong?

Honest answer: some accounts are set up well. If yours is, I’ll tell you that and explain why you don’t need to change anything. An audit that says ‘all good’ is worth the money if it’s true.

Can you recommend specific changes to implement?

Yes. The audit report includes specific recommendations — which keywords to pause, which audience to remove, how to restructure ad groups, etc. If you’re comfortable implementing, go ahead. If you want help, we can discuss ongoing management.

Do you audit accounts for businesses in Hatfield specifically?

Yes. I audit Hatfield, St Albans, Welwyn Garden City, Harpenden, and anywhere in Hertfordshire or the UK. I understand the local market and high CPC environment, which affects audit priorities.

How long does an audit take?

Review takes 3-5 business days. Findings call is 1 hour. You’ll have a written report within a week of starting.

What if I need help implementing the fixes?

Then we can discuss ongoing management or project-based support. I can either run your account going forward, or we can hire someone and I can review their work quarterly.
