What an Audit Finds

A PPC audit is a structured dig into one specific question: where is your money going, and is it working? I review account structure, keyword performance, audience targeting, creative effectiveness, conversion tracking, and bid strategy. Most accounts I audit have at least 15–20% of spend that could be salvaged or redirected within a week. Some have more.

What I Look At

No Obligation

This is a diagnostic service. I tell you what I find, what I’d change, and why. You can implement recommendations yourself, hire an agency, hire me to implement — or do nothing. It’s your account and your decision.

Typical Findings

Most audits turn up a mix of structural issues (keywords in the wrong campaigns, missing negative keywords), data problems (conversion tracking isn’t firing correctly, or someone set up filters that hide conversions), and tactical waste (bidding on brand terms at premium prices, running ads to mobile but not converting on mobile). Some are quick fixes; some need deeper rework. Depends on the account.

How an Audit Works

  1. Scoping call30 minutes. You tell me your business and give me access to your Google Ads account. I ask clarifying questions about your KPIs and where you think the waste might be.
  2. Review and analysisI dig through the account, analyse performance data, check conversion tracking, and build a findings list. Usually 4–8 hours of work depending on account size.
  3. Audit reportI send you a written report with findings, priority recommendations, and estimated impact for each change. You get a copy you can share with your team or next vendor.
  4. Debrief (optional)If you want to talk through the findings or ask questions, we can do a follow-up call.

Pricing

Audits are quoted based on account size, history, and complexity. A straightforward small account might be £300–600; a larger or messier account could be more. Book a call, tell me what you’re running, and I’ll give you a fixed price before we start.

Frequently asked questions

How long does an audit take?

The scoping call is 30 minutes. My review is typically 4–8 hours depending on account size and history. You’ll have findings within a week, usually sooner.

What if I have campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Facebook?

I focus on Google Ads because that’s where my expertise sits. Microsoft Ads and Facebook have different dynamics and optimisation levers. If you want those audited too, we can discuss separately, but the main audit is Google.

Can you audit my account if I'm with an agency?

Yes. Some agencies are fine with it; some aren’t. Check your contract first. Either way, I’ll sign an NDA if needed. The audit is diagnostic — I’m not trying to poach your business, just give you honest feedback.

What do I do with the audit report after I get it?

That’s your call. Implement the recommendations yourself if you have the skill. Hire me to implement if you want hands-on support. Hire another agency. Or file it away and revisit later. No strings attached.

Does the audit cover Middlesbrough-specific insights?

It covers your account as it is. If you’re a Middlesbrough business targeting County Durham and nearby areas like Stockton-on-Tees or Darlington, the audit will review how well you’re reaching those locations and whether your spend is allocated efficiently across them. That’s part of the targeting review.

Can I get a sample audit report?

I don’t share past clients’ data, but during the scoping call I can walk you through the kind of findings and format you’ll receive. That way you’ll know what to expect before we start.
