When to bring in a second opinion

You’ve got ads running. Maybe performance is flat. Maybe you don’t trust the person managing them. Maybe you’re spending more than you’d like and don’t know why.

That’s where fractional advisory works. I come in, audit the setup, identify the gaps, and either help you brief your current manager or work with you directly on strategy.

Fractional doesn't mean cheap. It means efficient.

You’re not paying for 40 hours a week of management. You’re paying for the hours of strategic thinking, diagnostics, and course-correction you actually need. That’s usually 4-8 hours a month for most businesses.

Typical advisory engagements

The honest diagnosis comes first

I’ll ask for read-only access to your Google Ads and Analytics. I’ll spend a couple of hours digging. Then we’ll talk. Sometimes it’s simple (wrong keywords, bids too high, tracking broken). Sometimes the problem is bigger (your margin doesn’t support this channel, or you need a different message). Honest answer first, then options.

How advisory usually works

  1. Initial reviewYou share access. I spend 2-3 hours reviewing setup, data, performance trends.
  2. Strategy callWe go through findings. I’ll point out what’s working, what’s broken, and what levers move fastest.
  3. Ongoing check-insMonthly calls or as-needed. I review your progress, advise on pivots, keep you aligned on strategy.

Who this works best for

Advisory is ideal if you’re already spending real money with Google (say, £2k+ monthly), your business model is solid, but you want seasoned thinking without hiring full-time. Works great in Greater Manchester, across the UK — all remote. Not a fit if you need someone to do the work day-to-day; that’s management, not advisory.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between fractional advisory and ongoing management?

Management means I run your campaigns, optimise daily, and own performance. Advisory means you (or your team) run them, and I give you strategy, spot problems, and help you think through decisions. Management is more hands-on. Advisory is lighter touch.

Can you spot issues in campaigns run by other agencies?

Yes. I’ve reviewed accounts managed by big agencies and found obvious waste — wrong bid strategies, bloated negative keywords, tracking gaps, misaligned campaign structure. An outside view usually finds things.

Do you work with New Mills and Chapel en le Frith businesses?

I work UK-wide. Location doesn’t matter — your customers see your ads online. I’ve advised local services in Greater Manchester, ecommerce brands internationally, all from the same place.

How much does fractional advisory cost?

Starting point is £300 per month for ongoing check-ins and strategy. If you need less frequent support, I quote based on actual hours. Call me to discuss your situation.

Can you take over management if advisory isn't enough?

Yes. If we start advisory and you realise you need full hands-on management, we can switch to that model. Pricing adjusts based on ad spend.

What if your recommendations don't work?

Strategy advice is a best guess based on your data and my experience. It won’t always work. If a recommendation doesn’t pan out, we course-correct. That’s why ongoing check-ins matter more than perfect predictions.
